Context ("we," "our," or "us") is a community app developed by Context Solution. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our application.
By using Context, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this policy, please do not access or use the application.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect the following information:
- Email address -- used for authentication and important account notifications
- Display name -- your chosen name visible to other community members
Profile Information
You may optionally provide additional information to enhance your profile:
- Bio -- a short description about yourself
- Neighborhood -- your local area to connect with nearby community members
- Avatar -- a profile photo or image
Content You Create
We store content that you create and share within the app, including:
- Posts -- text, images, and other media you publish to community feeds
- Comments -- responses you leave on posts
- Messages -- private conversations with other users (subject to our ephemeral messaging policy)
Usage Data
We collect anonymous analytics data to understand how the app is used and to improve the experience. This data does not personally identify you and includes general usage patterns, feature adoption, and performance metrics.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the service -- delivering core features including community feeds, event organization, connections, and messaging
- Personalize your experience -- showing relevant content from your neighborhood and connections
- Send important notifications -- account security alerts, community updates, and event reminders you have opted into
- Improve and develop new features -- using aggregate, anonymous data to understand usage patterns and build a better product
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate Context. Each has their own privacy practices:

Data Retention
- Messages -- private messages are automatically deleted after 90 days as part of our ephemeral messaging design. This is a core privacy feature of Context.
- Account data -- your profile and account information are retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time.
- Backups -- after an account deletion request is processed, backup copies of your data are purged within 30 days.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data -- request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Delete your account and all associated data -- permanently remove your account and all content you have created
- Export your data -- receive a machine-readable copy of your data for portability
- Opt out of non-essential communications -- control which notifications and emails you receive from us

Data Security
We take the security of your data seriously and implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect it:
- All data is encrypted in transit using TLS (Transport Layer Security)
- Data at rest is encrypted using industry-standard encryption
- Our infrastructure is hosted on Supabase, which provides enterprise-grade security, including SOC 2 Type II compliance
- Authentication tokens are securely stored using platform-native secure storage (Keychain on Apple platforms)
While we strive to protect your personal information, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
Context is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information as quickly as possible.
